I always try to be authentic and honest. With myself, with God and others around me.
I grew up in the truth. Have had my highs and lows. Have been a pioneer and MS in the past. 5 years ago realised that the Watchtower does not truly teach the Bible so no longer a JW. I left freely on my terms and am not DF / DA. Since then I have deconstructed my world and have worked on myself. I am still a moderate Christian that focuses on mercy, not sacrifice. Charity is very important.
Why am I on this site? We all crave to be understood and appreciated for who we are. Maybe this is an unrealistic expectation, but I would like to believe it could be possible. I live my life to high moral standards and am looking for someone who feels the same (but without the need to judge others, or even judge your own spirituality based on how many hours you spend preaching to people that Armageddon is coming).
I understand that this classifies me as an apostate. Whilst this may be true from the definition of no longing practicing this religion, I really have no desire to preach my 'apostate lies' or protest outside of assembly halls!
I live an active lifestyle and try a stick to a good diet (altho I have a terrible sweet tooth!)
I love to travel and learn new things. Currently planning my next motorbike tour. I would love to do more sailing if time allowed.

Many people 'do the truth' for the sake of family ties, wishful thinking and an unwillingness to challenge core beliefs. Jesus did not teach that you will live forever on a Paradise Earth. We only have one life. I spent two decades of my life believing that I would never become an adult / finish school / get a job / buy a house / plan for a family / save for retirement etc etc.
I genuinely feel sorry for people who have sacrified finding fulfilling work, getting to know and then marrying their spouse, having a family and just basically living their life. I have sat at the deathbed and watched several faithful older brothers exhale their final breathes truly believing that Armageddon was just around the corner. In fact the last time I experienced that was 10 years ago! Since then the majority of the spiritual titans that I looked up to in my youth have also passed.
I am in now control of my life and my destiny. I am resolved to fulfill my own goals and experience the broad variety of life now.
Independence. Intelligence. Curiosity. Creativity. Active lifestyle, including love of nature and enjoyment of camping / outdoorsy activities. You feel naturally beautiful without makeup and the need for a hair dryer and don't mind occasionaly roughing it on adventure holidays.
