My hands are rough and scared and their my resume for the man I am. My shell is tough but inside is a broken man the loves unconditionally and gives it 💯. A man that wants desperately to love & be loved, adored, to have someone to protect and defend, to have a reason to put on cologne and smell nice. A reason to put the toilet seat down and to make the other side of my bed everyday. A reason to go to Macy's or Dillards and let's not forget good old Victoria Secret. A reason to separate the laundry from work clothes and Lacey things. To be needed to open a jar that's too tight or move something that's too heavy. To be needed to rub someone's feet or just be the warm pillow she needs to fall asleep on while resting on the couch.
To be the one there to just listen when her days gone wrong. To be the one approached for a kiss. To be the one that hears the words whispered in my ear " make love to me Cowboy". To be the one that gets to carry her to bed. To be the one that gets to kiss her goodnight. To be the one that gets to watch her sleep peacefully because I satisfied her and made her feel safe. To be the one she loves and adores. That's what this old Cowboy wants to be again....the One!
I'm speaking from my heart that's been bailing wired back together. Yes tears still flow from my ducts but my tears aren't from sadness, but from joy/hope that my rope might have the chance to lasso love again. Hope of putting my brand on someone again. Hope of seeing a second set of boots at the end of my bed, and seeing bras and panties on my clothes line again. Hope of sharing my bathroom sink again. To see the color pink in my life again in more ways than one. To hear the clicking of heels across my floor again. To smell the scent of hairspray and perfume first thing in the morning. To be reminded that I did not put the toilet seat back down. To hear the bath ran every night. To feel soft bare skin lying next to mine every night.
